Arabic / Perso-Islamic
The medieval Arabic tradition that carried Hellenistic astrology forward: the 28 lunar mansions and the calculated lots (Part of Fortune and beyond).

How the math differs
The medieval Arabic tradition carried Hellenistic astrology forward on a tropical base and added its own instruments. The ecliptic is divided into 28 lunar mansions (manazil) — the Moon’s nightly stations, each about 12°51′ wide.
Its signature technique is the Arabic lots (parts): derived points computed by simple longitude arithmetic. The Part of Fortune, for example, is Ascendant + Moon − Sun (reflected by chart sect).
Because every lot is an exact longitude formula over the natal positions, the whole system is reproducible from the ephemeris and the ascendant.
