ChatGPT can explain a birth chart, but it should not invent one. Use a real ephemeris to calculate the degrees, houses, and aspects first. Then give those exact numbers to the AI. Compute first. Explain second.

What's actually true — the astronomy

A birth chart is a deterministic calculation: local time and place are converted to Universal Time and a Julian Day, an ephemeris resolves the planetary longitudes, and local sidereal time determines the angles and houses. The same inputs and settings should produce the same numbers. A language model predicting likely text is a different kind of system; without a connected ephemeris it may return convincing but inconsistent degrees, signs, aspects or dashas.

What the tradition says (interpretation)

Once the positions are correct, an AI can summarise the traditional meanings attached to them — much as it can summarise any documented symbolic system. That does not validate the interpretation, and it does not replace the judgement of a skilled practitioner. If AI contributed to a paid reading, disclosing that is part of an honest service.

The decision-science move — what to actually do

Ask one diagnostic question before trusting the answer: "Which calculation tool produced these degrees?" If the answer is only the model name, compute the chart elsewhere. If a real ephemeris tool was called, compare the Sun, Moon, ascendant and house-system settings against an independent calculator before reading the prose. Never let fluent interpretation hide an unverified input.
