What is a nodal return and why does it hit at 37?

What's actually true — the astronomy

The lunar nodes regress at a measured rate, completing one circuit in 18.61 years — the same cycle that governs eclipse seasons, which is why eclipses recur in a predictable pattern. This is real, well-measured celestial mechanics, and the nodes are computed directly from the ephemeris rather than approximated.

What the tradition says (interpretation)

Western astrology reads the north node as the direction of growth and the south node as the comfortable, over-practised past. Vedic astrology treats the same two points as Rahu and Ketu and gives them enormous weight, including their own dasha periods. A nodal return is read as a reset of that axis. Interpretation — deeply held, but interpretation.

The decision-science move — what to actually do

At 37 the honest question is not "what is my destiny" but "which parts of this life did I actually choose, and which did I just not stop doing?" That is a genuinely valuable audit and almost nobody schedules it. Use the return as the appointment: write down the three biggest commitments in your life and mark each one chosen or inherited. Then change exactly one. A single deliberate change beats a cosmic realignment you never act on.
